Vrbovsko, Croatia, September 21, 2026 – To mark International Tree Planting Day, Croatian investment group BOSQAR INVEST organized a reforestation initiative in Veliki Jadrč near Vrbovsko as part of its Green Building environmental initiative. The event brought together employees of BOSQAR INVEST’s companies, including Mplus, Mlinar, Graia, and Manpower, their children, as well as students and representatives of Ivan Goran Kovačić Elementary School from Severin na Kupi.
Participants planted 200 pedunculate oak seedlings and distributed 3,000 beech and ash SeedBombs. Assuming a 50% success rate, the project could contribute to the growth of approximately 1,700 new trees. Based on project estimates, over their lifetime, these trees could absorb approximately 18,000 tons of CO₂ and produce around 13,500 tons of oxygen, while also contributing to the restoration of the local ecosystem and biodiversity.
The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the City of Vrbovsko and Project O2, which develops nature-based, science-driven solutions for forest restoration. In addition to traditional tree planting, participants had the opportunity to learn about an innovative drone-based reforestation method, which enables the efficient distribution of SeedBombs even in hard-to-reach areas.

That is why Green Building brings together our employees, their families and the local community, showing that small individual actions can create a meaningful collective impact,” said Ivana Turjak Čebohin, Head of ESG at BOSQAR.
The participation of children added a special dimension to the initiative, as they joined employees in making SeedBombs and planting trees.
“Today, we are not just planting trees - we are planting the forest of the future. And through technology, we are trying to help nature where human activity has made it more difficult for forests to regenerate on their own. It is especially important to us to involve people throughout the entire process, because experiences like these help build a connection with nature and show that each of us can play a role in its restoration,” said Goran Ladišić, Co-Founder and CEO of Project O2.
BOSQAR INVEST launched its Green Building initiative in 2025, with the first reforestation activity taking place in Vukovar. Through the initiative, BOSQAR brings together the environmental and social dimensions of sustainability, combining the restoration of green spaces and biodiversity with volunteering, education, and stronger connections between employees and local communities.
“I would like us to remember this day not only by the number of trees we planted. I would like us to remember how it felt to come together and do something good, something that will remain long after we return to our everyday lives.
Because the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second-best time is today,” Turjak Čebohin concluded.
